The Lake St. Louis Tennis Association submitted the 2023 Events and League schedules to the new pickleball Courts Committee in early 2023 to get approved through the LSLCA Board. These schedules were not submitted by the pickleball Courts Committee to the LSLCA Board this year. The reason? The pickleball Courts Committee demanded that the Tennis Association give up their Wednesday evening Men's League time slot on the tennis courts, so the pickleball group could hold their league there instead of at their new Lakewood Park courts. The pickleball Courts Committee wants to give priority to the pickleball group over the four tennis courts in addition to their four new pickleball courts at Lakewood Park. The Tennis Association refused this unreasonable demand.
When the Tennis Association refused to give up the Wednesday evening Men's League slot, the pickleball Courts Committee petitioned the LSLCA Board/General Manager to remove the Lake St. Louis Tennis Association from the list of “Recognized Clubs” in the Community Association, giving the pickleball group total control of all courts (tennis and pickleball). Although the Tennis Association Leagues are still coordinated and run by the club, the schedule court reservation approvals are, unfortunately, controlled by the pickleball Courts Committee.
